Canvassing credentials

Every door,
covered.

How PPL recruits, trains, deploys, and manages door-to-door canvassing teams that deliver clean coverage and reliable field data.

See how we run the doors

Who we are

Canvassing is a frontline discipline

PPL is a marketing, sales-activation, and HR firm. Your lifeline to the frontline.

Door-to-door is the hardest channel to run well and the most valuable when it is. We build canvassing programs as full field operations: recruited, trained, scheduled, coached, and reported on, end to end.

Every program is scoped and priced to the client. These credentials cover how we run the doors.

Every PPL program includes

  • Recruitment & hiring
  • Training & onboarding
  • In-field team leadership
  • Scheduling & coverage management
  • Quality assurance at the door
  • Weekly reporting & analytics

Our approach

Four principles, every program

  • A consistent, professional presence across the target area.
  • Full coverage of the target area at the agreed contact frequency.
  • Quality conversations and resident feedback captured at the door.
  • Clean, actionable field data to guide strategy and resourcing.

The field team

One disciplined field operation

Team Lead

An active, in-field role. The team lead canvasses alongside the team while overseeing daily operations. Plans turf and routes, coaches canvassers at the door, manages scheduling and coverage, and owns performance reporting to program leadership.

Key deliverables

  • Active in-field canvassing & coaching
  • Turf & route planning
  • Scheduling & coverage management
  • KPI & data reporting

Connecting when it counts

Scheduling

We align shifts with the hours residents are most likely to be home, evenings and weekends, across a standard 11am to 7pm shift. Select a principle to see it on the week:

Full-shift coverage. A standard field day runs 11am to 7pm. Doors are worked across the entire shift, not only the busiest hour, which is what keeps daily volume steady and predictable.

Performance

Turning doors into data

Every door knocked, conversation held, and response captured is logged and summarized weekly, giving a clear view of coverage, contact rates, and resident sentiment across the program.

As activity builds, weekly reporting shows where coverage is on pace, which turf is performing, and where to redeploy, so decisions are grounded in field reality, not guesswork.

Analytics

Reporting that reads the ground

Field data is most powerful in context. We layer door-level sentiment onto existing provincial and federal voting results, drawn from published Elections Canada data, to show whether sentiment is swinging, where voter swings are forming, and how the ground compares to its own history.

Published results set the reference point. Before a single door is knocked, we know how each area has actually voted.

A schematic of the method. Every program reports on its own geography and its own results.

The same layered view holds after the doors are done. Because sentiment is anchored to a published electoral baseline, it becomes a defensible reference point for government relations and public affairs questions, tracked issue by issue as the ground moves.

Deeper data

Sentiment and profiling, at the door

Every conversation is also an observation. Beyond the count, canvassers capture how residents feel and what each household looks like, building a richer picture of the field with every pass.

Sentiment at the door

How residents respond, in their own words, logged at the moment of contact.

  • Receptiveness: positive, neutral, or negative reaction to the conversation
  • Top-of-mind issues: what matters most to the resident, unprompted
  • Conversation outcome: interested, undecided, or not interested, with context
  • Verbatims: short quotes that capture the why behind the what

Household profiling

Observable household attributes, captured respectfully as canvassers work the turf. Try configuring a capture set:

9 of 9 attributes enabled for capture

Attributes are configurable, defined with each client before launch.
